Manage Project Knowledge: Inputs

Project Management Plan

Every part of the project management plan is an input.

Project Documents

It’s possible to use the following project documents as inputs for manage project knowledge ( pmp) process:

  • lessons learned register : The lessons learned register keeps track of good knowledge management techniques.
  • Project team assignments : Knowing what skills and experience are available on a project team and what knowledge may be missing is possible thanks to project team tasks.
  • resource breakdown structure : The resource breakdown structure shows who is on the team and may help you figure out what knowledge the group has and what knowledge it is missing.
  • stakeholder register : The stakeholder record has information about the known stakeholders that can help you figure out what they may know.
  • Deliverables : In order to finish a process, phase, or project, you need to produce a deliverable, which is a unique and verifiable product, result, or ability to do a job. Deliverables are usually physical product finished to meet the project goals. They can also be parts of the project management plan.

Enterprise Environmental Factors

Among other things, the following things in the business world can affect the Manage Project Knowledge process:

  • Organizational, stakeholder, and customer culture.
  • Geographic distribution of facilities and resources.
  • Organizational knowledge experts.
  • Legal and regulatory requirements and/or constraints.

Organizational Process Assets

Processes and routines often contain knowledge about how to handle projects. You can change the Manage Project Knowledge process by using the following business process assets, but not just those.

  • Organizational standard policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Personnel administration.
  • Organizational communication requirements.
  • Formal knowledge-sharing and information-sharing procedures.

Manage Project Knowledge: Tools And Techniques

Expert Judgment

You should think about getting help from people or groups who are knowledgeable or trained in knowledge management, information management, organizational learning, knowledge and information management tools, and relevant information from other projects.

Knowledge Management

Skills and tools for knowledge management bring people together so they can work together to make new knowledge, share tacit knowledge, and combine the knowledge of team members with different backgrounds. It depends on the type of project, how innovative it is, how complicated it is, and how diverse (in terms of fields) the team members are to choose the right tools and methods for the job.

Information Management

Tools and methods for information management are used to make information and connect people to it. For sharing clear, easy, and unambiguous information, they work well. They include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Methods for codifying explicit knowledge;
  • Lessons learned register;
  • Library services;
  • Information gathering, for example, web searches and reading published articles; and
  • Project management information system (PMIS)

Interpersonal And Team Skills

Some of the people and team skills that are used in manage project knowledge ( pmp) are, but are not limited to:

  • Active listening
  • Facilitation
  • Leadership
  • Networking
  • Political awareness

Manage Project Knowledge: Outputs

Lessons Learned Register

You can write down the type of event and a description of it in the lessons learned register. The lessons learned record could also have the situation’s effects, suggestions, and suggested actions written down. In the lessons learned register, you can write down challenges, problems, risks and opportunities that were taken and then achieved, or anything else that makes sense.
The early result of this process is the lessons learned register. After that, it is used as an input and changed as an output in a lot of different steps of the project. The people or groups who did the work are also the ones who write down the lessons they learned. It is possible to record what you know using videos, pictures, audio recordings, or any other acceptable method that guarantees the effectiveness of the lessons recorded.

The data is moved to a “lessons learned repository,” which is an organizational process asset, at the end of a project or phase.

Project Management Plan Updates

People in the company have to fill out a change request for any changes they want to make to the project management plan. Anyone can use this process to make changes to any part of the project management plan.

Organizational Process Assets Updates

Every project teaches us something new. The Manage Project Knowledge method turns some of this knowledge into code, into deliverables, or into better processes and procedures. This method can also codify or embed existing knowledge for the first time. For example, if someone already has an idea for a new

We tested the process in the project and found that it worked well.
