The primary types of conductors and circuits that are used for power distribution are :
- service conductors
- feeders,
- and branch circuits

Feeder Conductors
Feeder conductors are defined as all conductors between the service equipment, source of supply of a separately derived system, or other power supply source and the final branch-circuit overcurrent device.
Feeders often supply a panelboard from another switchboard or panelboard. Including service equipment.
Branch Circuits
Branch circuit conductors are defined as the circuit conductors between the final overcurrent device and the outlet(s).
